Admittedly, I caught a few episodes of this show in passing , but like most VH1 programming, it’s not exactly thought provoking television. It’s like VH1 has managed to capture all that makes Jerry Springer and Maury Povich so polarizing and has managed to bank their entire network on that formula on that “thing”–and has managed to get “celebrities” to be willing participants in the freak show!
So after great mulling over and procrastination, I have decided to suspend updating the website for the next several months, returning in October 2010. The rest period will not be much rest however, chief among the reasons I will be taking a break is because I will be getting married soon, and a lot of obligations have not allowed for me to give the appropriate amount of attention to the site. The website will be reworked and relaunched with a new look, as well as relaunching with a store, and hopefully some animated shorts. Amongst the items included in the store will be a collected works, best of coloredcomics.com and I will have expanded storylines and new comics just for print in the collection!
Thanks for the continued readership and don’t forget to check the archive if you miss your fix! See you in October!
So for the past two months, I have extremely fallen behind on updating Coloredcomics.com as regular as it should be. What initially was a streak of laziness, then became a writing slump, is now just a lack of time. Coloredcomics.com has always been a labor of passion (which means it doesn’t make me much money)– the passion is still there (in fact even more so) but the job that does pay me bi-weekly has taken priority. In addition to an increased workload from my regular job, I’ve got a lot happening personally that requires more attention.
Now Coloredcomics.com is not going anywhere!–But please bear with me as I try and get back into a rhythm of regular and on-time updates. Thanks for the continued readership and all new readers please be patient in this slight speed bump. Thanks again for reading!
Phew, February was rough and as a result ole’ Coloredcomics.com got a lil’ neglected. Now I can’t hop in a time machine and go back a week to bring you all of February’s Coloredcomics on time–but through the power of the internet and retro dating post I can bring you a Toadyhog comic and TWORandom Acts comics! Enjoy.
So the month of February’s been brutal for me; every week this month has seen a late update. I’ve been ignoring it all month, hoping to break out of the slump the following week, but with no avail. So after still managing at least an update for 3 weeks, the last week in February has seen no update, thus far. Now as of this post I still have no quality ideas for a Super Senior update, but look for back dated updates on Toadyhog and Random Acts this weekend.
To give you the why, of what’s been going on-its part needed to recharge my creative batteries (or as Remy on True Blood says/said battrees–(yeah I watch True Blood, but never seen a Full Moon or whatever those movies are called)) and part laziness. What? Laziness can’t be a valid reason? What if I told you it was 70% recharging my creative batteries, 30% laziness? It doesn’t seem so bad when I put it like that, does it? Oh well, sorry for procrastinating. New month and renewed purpose!
I haven’t said it in a while, but THANKS for reading! And remember, read more comics!
4. Not for Everyone, Another comic that summarizes Super Senior’s cast slacker attitudes,
3. (technically this is two comics, but they’re apart of the same story line) So in 2009 I attempted my first true story line for the Super Senior cast. There have been story lines and themes that have been running throughout the comic’s run, but the Roadtrip story line was the first to be done over the course of consecutive weeks. Viva Las Vegas
So everyone has a top ten list, so why not do one for this year’s Super Senior comics? So in lieu of new comics this week I bring you the top 10 Super Senior comics of 2009. Ten through six today, and five to number one on Wednesday. Enjoy!
10. The Illusionist, this comic gives a nice summary of the level of slackers the cast of Super Senior are.
9. Braid My Hair, 2009 saw the start of the running gag of who exactly braids Ed’s Hair.
8. Missing Person, So Big Chris is a character that is used as needed in Super Senior. His character will make the sporadic appearance and this comic illustrates that point, literally I suppose?
7. Hater, I think we all can feel like this from time to time… at least I do.
So after 14 seasons AI calls it a career. Now people that know me personally, always thought I didn’t like AI just because I didn’t think he was the best player in the league, or because sometimes I would agree with some of the criticism leveled against him. But truth be told, I miss AI. I watch Sportscenter and youtube his highlights and its hard not to see that he always gave it his all. And anyone who tries that hard deserves respect. Now where does he stand amongst the all-time greats? I classify AI in the same class as Charles Barkley, a terrific competitor with freak of nature physical gifts, but arguably never really sold out for the preparation process (AI has been reported as loving the nightlife and thus the reason Denver trade him, the whole bad apple deal) that would have likely blessed them with a championship. But all that aside, I will miss watching AI. Hopefully he’ll come back and win a championship with some contender, while making key contributions.
